The below Policies & Conditions apply to ALL Transactions with Auto Computer Specialist. *herein ACS
The following policies are ACS's General Policies, Terms, and Conditions that apply to all ACS services. For specific information, please refer to our other policies. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Please note that we do not offer Refunds for Repair and Rebuild Services or Programming / Cloning Services. Our Technicians replace parts and dedicate man-hours based on the problem description and/or diagnostic trouble codes provided.
SERVICE TURN-AROUND TIMES All Services have a turnaround time of 3 to 5 business days (unless otherwise specified), and your service will not commence until all requested information and ECU (Electronic Control Unit) (Electronic Control Unit) are received. These times do not include Shipping Time. It is your responsibility to provide the necessary information, as ACS will not repeatedly request it.
While we strive to meet these deadlines for the majority of our services, we cannot guarantee them due to potential delays beyond our control. We will make every effort to communicate any delays to you promptly. It is advisable to allow for a few extra days in your planning.
SERVICE Please be advised that ACS does not diagnose your Unit; we specialize in Testing and Repairing the specific issues that you provide. We rely heavily on your diagnoses. All information must be accurately and thoroughly provided to facilitate proper Service for your unit. In the event that notes are lacking in specificity and detail, ACS will only be able to replace the unit and refunds will not be issued.
Before sending in your unit, please ensure that you scan it and provide ACS with information regarding your communication with the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). Please indicate whether you have Communication with the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) or if you are experiencing No Communication and cannot read the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). If you have Communication, please provide the DTCs present, including the DTC number only (e.g., PXXXX).
It is necessary to remove any Aftermarket Performance Tunes from the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) before sending it in for service. During the Testing, Repair and Rebuild process, Software Updates or Reflashing of the unit may be required, resulting in the loss of all Aftermarket Performance Tunes. ACS cannot be held responsible for any lost Aftermarket Performance Tunes.
Upon receiving your ECU (Electronic Control Unit) (Electronic Control Unit) and Service Form, ACS will initiate the testing process for your unit. It is important to note that all services are subject to a test fee at minimum. If you have already prepaid for your service, any excess amount will be refunded to you accordingly. Test Fees listed below:
If your initial concern was No Communication, once you receive the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) back and Communication has been established, you may encounter DTCs (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) upon installation of the unit. These are not new issues; they were simply not visible because of the inability to connect with the unit (lack of Communication). Please note that ACS is not liable for these issues.
If, for any reason, you install the unit and it is not functioning correctly, please pause and scan the unit. Once the Unit has been scanned, please uninstall the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) to avoid any additional damage. Subsequently, email us your scan results. We will promptly reach out to you and provide guidance on the next steps.
GENERAL It is important to note that simply Replacing, Rebuilding, or Programming an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) may not resolve all vehicle faults. The process of Rebuilding, Replacing, or Programming an ECU (Electronic Control Unit) must be accompanied by thorough vehicle Diagnostics and Repairs. It is crucial that all vehicle faults are addressed before installing a Rebuilt, Replaced, or Programmed ECU (Electronic Control Unit) or risk damaging the ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
SHIPPING ACS is not responsible for any lost or damaged items during shipping. Packages that arrive damaged at our facility will be declined. It is the customer's responsibility to insure all shipments. Return Labels will not be provided for defects, Warranty, or Refund Returns.
The following policies are ACS's Warranty Policies, Terms, and Conditions that apply to all ACS services. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
We are excited to announce that starting June 15, 2022, we are now offering a Limited Lifetime/Unlimited Mile Warranty on ALL Repair and Rebuild Services, and ALL Replacement Services. Please note that any purchases made before this date are not eligible for this Warranty. Thank you for choosing our services, and we look forward to providing you with top-quality service and peace of mind. Please note that there are no Warranties provided for Programming, Cloning, or Testing services and Warranties are nontransferable.
ALL Warranties have a 5 Business Day Turnaround; Express Warranties are handled on a case-by-case basis and may require additional Fees.
Warranty does not cover: damage due to pre-existing electrical shorts; any P0600 codes; percussion to the unit; vehicular accident; loss of communications to the unit; fire; damage due to exposure to liquids; improper exposure to electricity; loss due to theft, misplacement or mishandling of the unit; loss during shipment; acts of God; unavailability of parts in the market at large; or other parts which may malfunction simultaneously or subsequently.
If any PROTOCOL MAINTENANCE, TECH NOTES, and/or TSBs (Technical Service Bulletin) were issued, we would request Original Receipts and Paid Proof of Purchase of what the TSB and ACS asked for was tended to before installing the Repaired and/or Replacement Unit. A paid original receipt of an ASC-certified technician installation must also be sent in. ALL Parts must be Replaced with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) parts from Dealership ONLY. ACS in their sole judgment will determine the cause of the malfunction.
REPAIR and REBUILD SERVICE Only parts repaired/replaced by ACS are covered by this warranty. Should a defect occur during the Warranty period, the customer must return the unit, along with the proper Warranty Form and Original Purchase Document(s) or Invoice(s). You will receive an Updated Repair Form with TECH NOTES (including but notwithstanding; Errors Found, Possible Causes, Repairs Performed, TSB's Technical Service Bulletin) and Items that must be Tended to prior to installing the Unit, etc...), will be emailed to you (email provided) once ALL Repairs are complete.
WIRE HARNESS RESTORATION This Harness has a Warranty for the lesser of THREE MONTHS / THREE THOUSAND MILES. The Harness is tested before it leaves ACS and is Warranted to be Merchantable and Fit for its Particular Purpose following the Manufacturer’s Standards. Should a defect occur in the performance of the Harness during the warranty period, you can return the Harness to ACS along with the proper Warranty Form and Documentation. The Warranty extends only to the Original Purchaser and is non-transferable. Only parts repaired/replaced by ACS are covered by this warranty. The Customer is responsible for all costs of shipping and insurance. Any tampering whatsoever with the Harness by Customer Voids the warranty. Please see our FULL Policy, Terms & Conditions HERE. REPLACEMENT (REMANUFACTURE) SERVICE All sales of Replacement Units require an exchange of your Core Unit or a Core Charge. The Core Charges are as follows: Gas $100.00 to $350.00, Light/Medium Duty Diesel $350.00 to $499.99, and Heavy Duty Diesel $499.99 to $999.99.
In order to activate the warranty, the buyer must either send in the old core unit within 14 days of receiving the remanufactured unit or pay a core charge. A prepaid label will be provided for returning the core unit. Failure to return your Core or pay a Core Charge within 14 days will Void the Warranty on your Replacement Unit. ACS defines a Core as a "Serviceable Unit".

Please note that there are No Refunds on Shipping and Handling, Repair and Rebuild Services, Programming / Cloning Services, or Tests Services.
REPLACEMENT (REMANUFACTURE) SERVICE In order to receive a full Refund of 100%, it is imperative that the Plugs, Seals, and Warranty Stickers have not been tampered with, altered, or removed. To qualify for a 100% Refund:
All other returns will be subject to a 60% restocking fee, which includes parts changed, Programming, and man-hours for Shipping and Handling. A returned unit must be accompanied by the original ACS receipts and must be in the same condition and working order as when it was initially shipped to the customer.
