ACS POLICIES, TERMS AND CONDITIONS

 The following are Auto Computer Specialist’s (ACS) General Policies, Terms, and Conditions applicable to all ACS services. For more detailed service-specific information, please refer to our other dedicated policies. Thank you for your attention. 📚

GENERAL POLICIES, TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

The following policies are ACS's Warranty Policies, Terms, and Conditions that apply to all ACS services.

Refunds


ACS does not offer refunds for:

  • Repair and Rebuild Services Our technicians dedicate parts and man-hours based on your description and/or Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) provided. ACS specializes in Testing and Repairing issues you identify from your diagnosis — we do not diagnose.
  • Programming / Cloning Services When we program or clone an ECU, we're dedicating licensed software, specialized tools, and expert technician time to customize your specific unit. Since this work is permanently tied to your module and cannot be reversed, refunds are not available once programming or cloning has been performed.
  • Testing Services Our testing process involves carefully inspecting and analyzing your ECU using advanced diagnostic equipment and skilled technician time. Even if no fault is found, the resources, time, and effort spent in testing your unit are real and significant, so unfortunately, test fees are non-refundable.
  • Shipping and Handling Shipping and handling fees cover the cost of packing, preparing, and physically moving your unit between you and our shop. Once your shipment has been processed and picked up by a carrier, those costs are completed services, which makes shipping and handling non-refundable.


Replacement Unit Return Conditions (for full refund)

  • Return within 14 days.
  • Plastic Sealing and Warranty Stickers must be intact.
  • Unit must not be installed or tampered with.


If the conditions are not met; a 60% Restocking Fee applies. Misdiagnosed returns will be subject to a 60% Restocking Fee.


Service Procedures


Required Before Sending Your Unit:

  • Scan the ECU (Electronic Control Unit).
  • Complete a Service Form.
  • Remove all aftermarket performance tunes — ACS is not responsible for their loss.


 

Service Turnaround Times (excluding shipping)

Service Turnaround Time

  • Repair and Rebuild (excluding Allison A50 and T14) : 3–5 Business Days
  • Remanufacture: 3–5 Business Days
  • Programming / Cloning: 1–5 Business Days
  • Harness Restoration: 10-15 Business Days


NOTE Service begins only after all required information and the ECU are received. We aim to meet these deadlines, but delays may occur beyond our control. Plan accordingly.


Testing Fees (at minimum)


Test Fee 

  • Gas:  $88.88
  • Light/Medium Duty Diesel: $148.88–$248.88
  • Heavy Duty Diesel: $248.88–$448.88 


If prepaid service exceeds the actual fee, the balance will be refunded.


Shipping


ACS is not responsible for Shipping Costs (unless otherwise specified). Please note that ACS is not responsible for any issues or delays related to shipping, as all shipments are handled by third-party carriers. Customers are responsible for shipping insurance. ACS is not responsible for lost or damaged shipments.

  • Free ground shipping is available for select purchases within the 48 contiguous U.S. states.
  • International shipping must be arranged by the customer with prepaid UPS labels.
  • Return labels are not provided for Warranty or Refund Returns.

WARRANTY, RETURNS / REFUND POLICIES, TERMS, and CONDITIONS

The following policies are ACS's Warranty Policies, Terms, and Conditions that apply to all ACS services. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

 

Warranty Policies, Terms and Conditions


ACS offers a Limited Lifetime / Unlimited Mile Warranty on Repair and Rebuild and Replacement Services (Effective June 15, 2022). Programming, Cloning, and Testing Services have no warranty. Warranties are non-transferable.


Warranty Coverage Details

  • 5 business day turnaround for warranty claims.
  • Customer pays shipping costs for warranty claims.
  • Only parts repaired or replaced by ACS are covered.
  • If your Testing is a “Test” Unit, please provide 1 clear Video of a Programmed Unit working the Vehicle (must show VIN). In the same Video, uninstall the Programmed Unit and install the Rebuilt or Reman Unit and show it not working. Again this must all be in 1 video.


Warranty Exclusions

  • Damage due to electrical shorts, accident, fire, liquid exposure, improper installation, percussion, theft, acts of God.
  • If initial concern was No Communication, additional DTCs may appear after service — these are pre-existing faults.
  • Any P0600–P0609 codes if battery and terminals were not replaced beforehand.
  • TSBs or Maintenance Protocols requested must be completed with dealership OEM parts and proof of installation must be provided.
  • Tampering with ECU, Programming, or installation of aftermarket parts voids the warranty.
  • Failure to pay any prorated repair/replacement charges voids the warranty.


Specific Warranty Policies by Service


Repair and Rebuild Service

  • Units can be sent back once for warranty repair before prorated charges apply. This will be based on proof of Vehicle Repairs.
  • In the first warranty case only, a credit may be offered toward a replacement unit.


Wire Harness Restoration

  • 3 Months / 3,000 Miles Warranty (whichever occurs first).
  • Warranty void if the harness is tampered with.


Replacement (Remanufacture) Service

  • Requires return of old Core Unit within 14 days or a Core Charge must be paid. Core Conditions Must be serviceable (no physical damage, liquid exposure, etc.) and Security seal must be intact.
  • Lifetime Warranty covers only one replacement during ownership.
